Day 6, Friday
This day finds us climbing out of Skaneateles and then riding along the ridges over to Ithaca. Ride distance is 45 miles.
By the way, just as you enter Ithaca you will pass near our favorite Ice Cream shop in all of the Finger Lakes. Purity Ice Cream is made right here in Ithaca, and has some of the best ice cream around. We especially like their "chip" flavors.
Ithaca has been named as one of the 5 best mountain biking areas of the US. Why? Because of the wonderful bike routes through the hills and valleys of the area. Ithaca is an ecclectic town, with both a famous university (Cornell University) and a well know colleg (Ithaca College) and the active town life that goes with it. There are great restaurants, including the Moosewood Vegitarian Restaurant of cookbook fame, specialty shops, and wonderfuil parks and gorges.
Tonight we will stay at the Holiday Inn near the Commons in Ithaca.
Dinner will be at one the fine local downtown restaurants.
